Story
On a winter night in Tokyo, a young psychology professor was preparing for her lecture the next day. At three o'clock in the morning, her phone suddenly vibrated, and she received a short message: "Don't be late."
The professor was stunned. She clearly had no appointments, and no one would send her a reminder at this hour. Yet an inexplicably strong impulse welled up in her heart: she must leave immediately. So she packed her bags, rushed to the airport, bought a ticket for the first flight to New York. She didn't tell anyone.
More than ten hours later, she arrived in New York, turned on the TV, and saw the news: a severe earthquake had just hit Tokyo, causing massive casualties. All her colleagues and students were among the victims.
What is strange is — that message was never meant for her.
Even more strange is — if she had not seen that message, she would not have died, but she would have made a decision she could never forgive herself for for the rest of her life.
Question: Why is this?
