Xiao Ming walks into a hotel and tells the front desk he wants a quiet room. The front desk assigns him Room 208, located at the end of the corridor.
In the middle of the night, Xiao Ming is woken up by a faint, regular "thump, thump, thump" sound. It sounds like it comes from the walls, or maybe from under the floor. He turns on the light to check, everything in the room is normal, and the sound stops. He turns off the light, and as soon as he lies down, the sound starts again.
Xiao Ming is very annoyed, he pounds hard on the wall, and the sound stops abruptly. However, when he checks out the next morning, the front desk looks confused and says: "Room 208 hasn't had any guests for three months, because our next door is a mortuary."
