it was around one in the morning when maria got home from a party with her friends. normally, when she gets home, she would eat dinner and read for a while. but tonight, she was so tired she went right for the bathroom to get ready for bed. she took out her jewelry, brushed her teeth, and went to wipe off her makeup. as she took the washcloth from her face and examined her reflection, she suddenly froze. however, after a moment, she finished washing her face, and left the bathroom normally, except for locking the door behind her.
