I am an elementary school teacher.
One day, I received a diary written by one of my students.
The student's name is Chen Li,
but on the cover of the diary, another name was written──Chen Le.

Today is the offering day of our village.
Dad turned Mom into a pupa.
Dad said that after today,
Mom will become "Bone Moth".
A fire broke out during the offering.
I asked Dad if Mom was burned to death?
Dad didn't answer,
he just picked up some unburned bones from the ashes,
and pieced them together.
Put together by Dad,
the bones were arranged into the shape of a moth.
The villagers said,
Mom became Bone Moth,
a god in our ancestral hall,
and she will protect everyone from now on.
Dad and I both smiled.
