The Deadly Birthday Wish
I am a third-grade elementary school student. Today is my 9th birthday. After I get home from school, the house is completely silent, but I know Mom and Dad must be hiding to prepare a surprise for me. I walk into the dark dining room, and see a large cake on the table, with 9 lit candles stuck in it. I happily make a wish, then take a deep breath and blow hard to put out all 9 candles.
