Story

I bought a late-night bus ticket to return to my hometown.
On the way, the bus passed a deserted mountain road with no streetlights at all, and all passengers were fast asleep. The driver slammed on the brakes, pulled over to the roadside, then turned off all interior lights and the engine.
In the darkness, I heard the driver say to everyone on board in a very low voice: "Don't open your eyes, and don't make a sound."
Out of fear, I squinted open a crack and glanced out the bus window.
I pushed open the window and jumped out without hesitation.
